A beautiful perspective, as always, Andrea. This seems to be an American work ethic thing. But the Europeans and Central Americans, among many others, have known for years that constant work does not equal a quality life. We miss so much beauty and love when we're in a work frenzy. Daily, even monthly, breaks allow you time to feed your joy, build better relationships, even savor good food more, along with so many other benefits. My advice...take time for yourself and to do what you love. The Gen Y'ers and Millenniums see this, I hope the rest of us take it to heart, too.

Oh my heavens, what a lovely world we would live in if everyone was this generous with their understanding of others, and accepting of what just is.

I often think, when I'm tempted to give in to anger or judgment about someone, "How would a Divine Father/Mother look at this human child?" That is the outlook I want to hold...a gentle parent's love for a child who just hasn't learned yet how to be the best s/he can be. I'm here to help them learn, not to be frustrated by them. And they are here to help me learn how to handle the temptation to become frustrated.

My friend, I think you've found a beautiful way to handle it, here. More Love is always a good idea.

My comment is that "security" is the lie. We only trick ourselves into needless suffering when we buy into the illusion fostered by our profit driven kulture that we should expect security. As T.S. Eliot put it: "Anxiety is the hand maiden of creativity." We must bless the fact that we are here to do battle with fear and to vanquish it not with more insurance or better defenses but with stories, poems, songs and paintings of life giving birth to more L*I*F*E.

Thanks for this post Andrea. It was just what I needed today. I figured out how to do something from an earlier day's list so I did it. It consumed my discretionary time for today (of course I had something else planned for that time, in addition to catching up with my blogathon buddies). Your message has helped me to appreciate what I learned and accomplished this morning.
